Saturday was a warm day across the state and the heat won't let up until a cool change hits Monday afternoon.
A total fire ban day has not been declared for either Sunday but fire danger warning for Wimmera is very high.
Horsham on Saturday peaked with a top of 36.1°C at 5.30pm and the temperature didn't dip below 20°C until after 3am on Sunday morning.
Nhill reached a top of almost 37°C and didn't fall below 20°C overnight. In Edenhope it reached 34°C at 5pm but like Nhill didn't fall below 20°C overnight.

Sunday is expected to reach a top of 42°C with light winds becoming northwest to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the middle of the day then tending southwesterly in the late evening.
Keep your air conditioners and fans on because it will be a hot night on Sunday with the forecast minimum only 28°C overnight.
The brunt of the heatwave will be felt Sunday night and Monday morning.
Looks like Horsham will get rain when the cool change hits, with Monday's top temperature forecast at 36°C.
It will be very hot with a very high chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Heavy falls possible. Light winds becoming northwesterly 25 to 30 km/h in the middle of the day then turning southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h in the early afternoon.
The cool change will also bring gusty winds which can add to fire danger.
Sunday and Monday will see some of the hottest days Wimmera has seen so far this season.
People out and about this long weekend are advised to keep an eye on conditions with possible fire dangers and to be sun smart.
Tuesday will be 24°C and cloudy. There will be a medium chance of showers, most likely in the morning. Winds southeast to southwesterly 20 to 30 km/h. It will still be a high fire danger day.
