The squad (announced on Thursday) was reduced from 25 by coach Brian Goorjian, with NBA free agent Thon Maker cut and NBL players Will Magnay, Mitch McCarron, Mitch Norton, Deng Adel and Will McDowell-White.
The 19-man squad is filled with NBA experienced players including Ben Simmons, Aron Baynes, Matthew Dellavedova, Joe Ingles and Patty Mills and is viewed by many as Australia's best chance to win its first men's basketball Olympic medal.
2014 NBA fifth draft pick and current Houston Rocket Dante Exum was seen as a surprise inclusion in the squad as he hasn't played since January due to a calf injury.

Creek is one of eight NBL players named alongside grand-final-bound Melbourne United stars Chris Goulding and Jock Landale.
The squad will take part in a camp and matches in the USA from June 24 before Goorjian names his final Olympic team of 12 in July.
On Tuesday night, Creek's South-East Melbourne Phoenix side (playing in their first finals series) were beaten by Melbourne United in Game three of the NBL semi-finals.
Creek was instrumental in game two of the series picking up 26 points, four rebounds and two assists for his side and was equally effective in game three, scoring 19 points and nine rebounds in their ten-point loss.
