Council received five submissions from the public, all relating to roads and footpaths. These were all recommended to be included in the 2021/22 budget.
They included the carpark at Murtoa swimming pool, access to the community paddock at Minyip and a section of Cooks Road in Hopetoun to be sealed.
The proposed Budget was placed on public exhibition from Wednesday 26 May 2021 to Monday 21 June 2021 inclusive, calling for submissions.
The Budget provides an increase in general rate revenue of 1.46 per cent for the 2021/22 year. The rate cap has been set at 1.5 per cent by the Minister for Local Government.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Council believed differential rates contribute to the equitable and efficient distribution of the rate burden to ratepayers. The differential rate ratios are as general land being 100 percent of the general rate in the dollar, and farm land with 62 per cent of the general rate in the dollar.
General land will be 0.5414 cents and farm land will be 0.3384 cents.
The budget was moved by Councillor Karly Kirk and seconded by Councillor Tom Hamilton.
It was carried unanimously.
The adopted budget will now be forwarded to the Minister for Local Government.
