On Wednesday, June 30, Wimmera Health Care Group reached out in need for nurses to urgently fill in shifts over the next three to four days.
Thankfully, WHCG were successful in its last-minute call out.
Due to the several lockdowns across Australia, WHCG nurses were stuck interstate and were unable to return home in time for their shifts.
A spokesperson from WHCG said it was a team effort to ensure the hospital was properly staffed.

"The team always step up when we have these tricky periods," they said.
"We were able to fill the spots though it required some nurses doing double shifts to help cover all shifts."
The Facebook call-out was posted to the public page rather than the team page, but caused an unexpected surprise.
"It looks like we will inadvertently gain a few more nurses on staff which is a bonus," the spokesperson said.
The WHCG spokesperson added the need for nurses is an ongoing issue.
"There is always a need for more nurses, especially since the pandemic has prevented any coming from overseas," they said.
