Beugelaar was excited about the deal and told the Mail-Times that he has "unfinished business" at the club.
"The whole plan was that last year was a build year and then this year was our big year, but that sort of took a backwards step with all the COVID stuff," Beugelaar said.
"We're just continuing the build and we've had a good year this year and hopefully progress into the next."
Current assistant-playing coach Landt will work alongside Beugelaar in 2022 as part of a "transition plan", according to Beugelaar.
"I'm gonna take a backwards step, obviously still be heavily involved come game day and things like that, but he'll take the reins for pre-season which will be really good," he said.

"I'm just really excited to work with him being a young fella, and he's got a lot of leadership attributes which are held in high regard around our footy club.
"I think it will be a great opportunity for him and a great opportunity for the club moving forward."
Landt was excited by the opportunity to step up into a head-coaching role.
"It's awesome, I'm really looking forward to it," Landt said.
After a solid start to the year, the Roos sit fifth at the moment after a string of recent losses.
The side already has as many wins (four) as they did in 2019 after 16 games, with both Beugelaar and Landt aiming for finals this year.
"I think a big part of that was losing Tommy Cree for a couple of games due to suspension so to have him in our side and we lost Dylan Tarczon for another one of those games," Beugelaar said.
"If we had our best side on the park, it could be a completely different story about those games.
"But I'm happy where we are at the moment, I just wanna make sure we make finals towards the end of the year."
"I firmly believe if we can get in there (finals), we're capable of beating every side that's above us," Landt said.
