EPA contractors have removed 300 tonnes of waste at the site to date, with contractors moving on to a second identified area.
Groundwater monitoring conducted on-site in early June has shown no signs of contamination.
Further groundwater monitoring wells have been installed in targeted locations across the site.
In 2020, EPA took control of the site and cleaned it up after the duty holder failed to do so. Charges have since been laid against Graham Leslie White for breaches of the Environment Protection Act.

Project manager Julian Bull said contractors had undertaken works at a number of areas which had been alleged to contain illegal waste.
"Progress is good as our contractors move through a number of areas where we allege waste was dumped over an extended period," Mr Bull said.
"Safety protocols continue to be closely adhered to which have been specifically designed to reduce any risk posed by the movement of the waste."
Mr Bull explained more groundwater wells were installed in June, as part of the extensive monitoring program.
"We understand people's concern about groundwater contamination but all our monitoring to date has not found any contamination," he said.
He said results from the latest round of testing were made available to the public at the end of last month.
