Council workers and councillors have spent many days across July around the shire so that residents could share their feedback.
Yarriambiack Shire Council chief officer Jessie Holmes said the communities across the shire have been engaging with the council.
"The Council Plan pop-up sessions have been well attended to date, with residents interested to see how Council has implemented their feedback and project ideas from the Community Engagement Sessions held earlier in the year into our four year plan and long term financial plan," she said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Key priorities and questions from these pop-up sessions have focused on our Capital Works Program and the new waste and recycling program that will be implemented during this Council Plan term.
"This Council Plan is one of our most exciting yet. The draft Council Plan is on exhibition until Friday July 23 and can be found on the website at https://www.yarriambiack.vic.gov.au. I'd encourage all community members to review the plan to see what's in store for Yarriambiack for the next four years and beyond."
A four-year council plan is a requirement under the Local Government Act 2020.
Yarriambiack Council has two in-person sessions scheduled for Wednesday, July 21. From 9.30am to 10.30am there will be a session at the Patchewollock Store and from 11.30am to 12.30pm there will be a session at the Speed Post Office.
The sessions meant to be held on Friday, July 16 at Woomelang and Hopetoun are to be rescheduled next week depending on staff and councillor availability.
The main objectives of the Yarriambiack Council Plan are:
- A vibrant and diversified economy
- A healthy and inclusive community
- A robust and thriving environment
- A council who serves its community
The draft Council Plan and accompanying documents have been prepared following extensive community consultation throughout February, March and April.
This draft document also incorporates the Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan and the Long-Term Financial Plan.
To address the economy, the council want to take several courses of action over 2021/22, such as install cabins at Warracknabeal and Hopetoun Caravan Park and actively pursue Regional Development Australia Grampians 'For Want of a Worker' Strategy initiatives to attract and train the future workforce.
The council wants to expand the Warracknabeal Children's Centre to accommodate the higher demand in kindergarten and childcare and seek Dunmunkle Early Years and Childcare Centre funding as part of their healthy and inclusive community objective.

Some actions to pursue this objective include a Cultural Audit and Workforce Plan to identify skill gaps and training requirements, develop a Training Matrix/Plan to deliver on skill gaps and training needs and take action on 'People Matters Survey' to improve gender equality and culture.
The draft Council Plan is now available on the council's website for public exhibition.
