Farrell reversed out of the driveway, almost hitting a letterbox on the way out.
Police attempted to contact Farrell but were unable until the next day, where he admitted to reversing into the vehicle but provided excuses to police.
Farrell told police that a dog was barking at the victim's address and that the victim's car was parked halfway off the nature strip.
He told the court his drivers' licence was "extremely important" due to work reasons.
Magistrate Tim Walsh said that motorists are required to stop and provide details in the event of an accident, and if there is no one to give details to, go to the nearest police station.
