The Wimmera Bowls Region, which encompasses competitions from Ararat to Hopetoun, along with the Mallee-Murray Bowls Region, was selected to be the site for the scheme, according to a statement released by Bowls Victoria.
Across the next two years, the pilot would assist with the management and growth of bowls in regional Victoria with help from a dedicated assistant.
Wimmera Region chair Andrew Reading said it was an opportunity the region grabbed with both hands.

"It's about trying to get bowls just a little bit more active."
The administrator will assist the two regions with administrative tasks such as running competitions, liaising with the government, seeking sponsors and communicating with members.
"It's a matter of getting people more involved in bowls, just like people organize and get involved in football and cricket and all every other sport," Reading said.

"Bowls Victoria is trying to get more enthusiasm in bowls, especially in the country.
"We're looking at trying to organize easier and better ways of running things, which will especially help all the little clubs.
"They're going to get someone in that's going to help us do these sorts of programs and get them up and running and see what happens."
Bowls Victoria funded the program and recruitment for the position will commence shortly.
Bowls Victoria chief executive Tony Sherwill said the program supported the volunteers who keep the sport running.
"Our volunteers do a terrific job under what have been very trying circumstances over the past 18 months, so giving them more support is what we want to do," he said.
