Power couple Rebekah Pfeiffer and Steve Olver said they were surprised to receive the nod for the second year in a row.
"We were up against a lot of real quality pest control businesses in Australia," Mr Olver said.
"No one ever wins two years in a row."
"To get two years in a row, we were really surprised," Ms Pfeiffer said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
BugROff was started in 2008, and the award-winning business is going strong and employs seven people.
Ms Pfeiffer and Mr Olver held a small get-together with staff for the announcement on Thursday, September 23.
The tight-knit team has been the same team for the last two years, resulting in two Pest Manager of the Year nods.
Ms Pfieffer and Mr Olver are incredibly proud of their team.
"For them to be back-to-back awards in the same team, it's a credit to them," Mr Olver said.
BugROff stood out by a mile, according to the judges.
The business had two incredibly unique and out-of-the-box projects that made them stand out.
These are termite sniffer dogs and having a product testing site in the Wimmera.
"We set up a trial site to independently test products," Ms Pfeiffer said.
"There are monitoring stations for different brands."
Mr Olver said it's vital to have trial sites because what works in one climate may not work in the Wimmera climate.
"We set something up to see if it works in out climate," Mr Olver said.
"We send that data back to a couple of companies, such as BASF."
Ms Pfeiffer is also now trained to teach scent-detection dogs so that BugROff can do in-house training.
"It was pretty big," Mr Olver said.
"Now, Ms Pfeiffer has those capabilities.
"They were the two big differences done this year and that took us to a different level."
Ms Pfeiffer was also a finalist for Professional Women in Pest Management.
The couple is also very honest in maintaining a good and ethical practice in their work, something they pride themselves and the business on.
"We want our clients to have confidence when they come to us that we educate ourselves, upskill ourselves and step outside the box to bring them something different," Ms Pfeiffer said.
"We stick to our morals and our ethics on how things need to get done," Ms Olver said.
"We won't go outside the standards."
