In what is considered a big coup, Pimpinio have announced that premiership player Clint Burdett will be playing-coach of their Senior football side in 2022.

Burdett has spent the last seven years with the Southern Mallee Giants and brings with him a wealth of experience in several Victorian football leagues.

Pimpinio president Trevor Baker said he was "over the moon" with the news.
"I'm really looking forward to him coming back and helping us out with our younger team," Baker said.
"We have a really good lot of juniors coming through and he'll be the perfect bloke for the job."
The former Giant first played for Pimpinio back when the club was a force between 2005 and 2008.
He was a part of the Tigers' 2005 and 2006 premiership wins and coached the side between 2007 and 2008. He also picked up Pimpinio's Best and Fairest in 2007.
Between 2012 to 2014 Burdett played for the Gol Gol Hawks in the Millewa Football League, near Mildura. At the Hawks Burdett was able to really shine, collecting three club best and fairests and two league best and fairests.
Burdett signed for the Southern Mallee Giants in 2015, returning to where he grew up in Hopetoun.
Again, he experienced the ultimate success in 2016 winning the HDFNL premiership with the Giants, before featuring in two Wimmera League grand finals for the Giants in 2018 and 2019.
Baker said the move came about because the club had "stayed in touch with him (Burdett) the last few years".
"We just mentioned that one day we'd really like him to come back as a coach and then out of the blue we rang him up and it's all worked out in our favour," he said.
Wherever Burdett plays success seems to follow, so Pimpinio will be hoping he can continue that trend. The Tigers finished 11th the last two seasons and will be looking to rise in season 2022.

"It's not like he's coming to a club where he doesn't know anybody," Baker said.
"We'll be certainly looking to get up the ladder a lot further than what we are.
"We've got a better lot of young kids coming through now then what we had come through before we won those flags so we've really got to get up and make it happen for them."
