In a statement sent to media outlets, Grampians Public Health Unit commended both the public response and healthcare workers.

"Yesterday we celebrated over 150,000 COVID-19 vaccinations across the Grampians region," the statement read.

The Grampians region is a vast expanse, with the Grampians Public Health Unit supporting the public health response to COVID-19 from Bacchus Marsh to the South Australian border.

"This is an incredible effort - while it took six months to reach the 100k milestone, and only 44 days to administer another 50,000."

"This puts the region at more than 95% first dose and 72.5% second dose."

"A big thank you to the people of the Grampians who have rolled up their sleeve, and also to all the health care workers across the region who have worked so hard to reach this milestone."

In addition, Grampians Public Health Unit, Operations Director, Robyn Wilson said 69 per cent of 12 to 15-year-olds in the Grampians region had received their first vaccination while 14 per cent were fully vaccinated.

"The youth of our region are really showing us how to get it done," she said.

The milestone comes on the heels of Horsham's own Lister House Clinic celebrating 20,000 doses, while Stawell Regional Health marked 5,000 doses of its own.
