On Friday, October 22, 6400 Murray cod were released into Taylors Lake, a special release of fish in addition to the lake's annual allotment.
This follows earlier stocking in the year, which saw fish released into water bodies from Yaapeet to Toolondo, Nhill and Stawell.
Victorian Fisheries Authority chief executive Travis Dowling said the group aimed to stock 10 million fish across the state by April 2022.
"Last Friday, Taylors Lake near Horsham received a special stocking of 6400 Murray cod," he said.

"This early stocking is just a glimpse of our native stocking plans for the Wimmera as we work towards our goal of stocking 10 million fish in Victoria by April 2022 - a nationwide record."
Native fish stocking typically doesn't start until November or December, but at 18g, the larger fish were left over from last summer's season.
During November to December, Taylors Lake will receive 50,000 cod and 100,000 golden perch.
The Wimmera River also looks to receive 50,000 golden perch, 50,000 silver perch and 10,000 Murray cod - the first time cod has been stocked in the river since 2004.
In addition, Green Lake will get 20,000 golden perch, and Yarriambiack Creek will be stocked with 9000.
The Victorian Fisheries Authority has also closed cod season in the Wimmera basin, meaning anglers can fish for cod all year in places such as Taylors Lake and Rocklands Reservoir.
