After the first round of matches it was a level field with two sets a piece.
A short rain delay saw the results sit at 3-4 to the Saints, before a close men's tie breaker giving the Saints the jump to 5-3.
More rain delayed the last round of sets, which proved to be a mixed bag.

Before having their match stopped due to rain, Drung's Aaron Jennings led Nick Robertson 5-2.
However, after a 45-minute rain delay, Jennings lost his momentum and Robertson came out firing.
Robertson eventually won 8-6, giving the Saints another set.
Meanwhile, Drung's Dylan Emmerson made light work of Saint Ian Nitschke, while Jess McDonald was at her saintly best, only dropping one game to Drung's Kate-Lyn Perkin.
In the end, it was St Michael's who claimed the day, winning 7-5 .
In other pennant matches , Kalkee defeated Drung South Orange 9-3 in a clinical display at home.

Andrea Cameron, Lachlan King and Logan Casey defied Kalkee to win their sets and keep Drung's chance alive.
Drung also showed form in other matches, with Janelle Knight stepping in as a man and sending an ace straight past Grant Schulz.
However Kalkee proved too strong; Schultz won the match 8-0, as Kalkee took home the chocolates, 90 games to 50.
It was a similar story when Horsham Lawn clashed with Central Park, with the grass-courters emerging victorious 9-3.
Elsewhere in A Special, Kalkee saw off Homers 13-1 and Natimuk defeated Drung South 11-3.
OTHER NEWS:
St Michael's forfeited their match against Telangatuk East, but the Horsham Lawn derby went the way of Gillespie who defeated Horsham Lawn Thompson 8-6.
But the match of the round was Brimpean and Central Park, who were inseparable at 7-7 at day's end.
It was only a games tally of 84-82 that tipped the scales in Brimpean's favour.
In A Grade, Drung South and Homers had a tense game, with Drung South prevailing 7-5 (72-68). .
Natimuk and Central Park played out a similar affair, with Natimuk coming out 7-5 (74-67) winners.
Things were less close in the A Grade Horsham Lawn derby, with Horsham Lawn O'Connor defeating Horsham Lawn Bardell 8-4.
In B Special, St Michael's put on a clinic against Horsham Lawn, winning 9-3, while Laharum defeated Haven 8-4.
The result sets up a tantalising clash between St Michaels and Laharum next round with both sides currently undefeated after two rounds.
Pennant fans will have to wait for such a clash, with in-form ladder leaders Kalkee and St Michaels not scheduled to face until December 4.
Next week, Kalkee takes on Drung South Purple, while Horsham Lawn and St Michaels face off.
Drung South Orange will host Central Park in the third pennant match.
