"I'm hoping the students have a really rewarding experience having been locked up for nearly two years," Mr Jervies said.
"This is what they are meant to be doing."
The expects are an exclusive preview ahead of the premier later in Melbourne.
The performance featured the senior students including post graduate students.
Director of the school, Lisa Pavane said performers are excited to be back.
"You can feel their excitement," she said.
"They have been the ones impacted by the pandemic, particularly our post graduate students they missed out on a whole year of performing last year."
Ms Pavane said the excerpts from 'Butterfly Suite' are the first new full performance created by the school in 19 years.
"We have put this suite of dances together and it's the first time it'll be seen here in Horsham," she said.
"It's significant for us, hopefully the audience appreciate that as well."
The show included choreography by Simon Dow, Tim Harbour, Lucas Jervies and Margaret Wilson, created especially for The Australian Ballet School.
