Applications for part time positions on the board of directors are open until Monday, November 29, 2021, and close at midnight.
Board directors collectively set the "big picture" strategic goals for the organisation, and set up systems to ensure the performance against these goals, including safety and quality of care, can be monitored.
West Wimmera Health Service chief executive Ritchie Dodds encouraged anyone interested in joining the service's board to take the opportunity to apply.
"These positions provide an exciting opportunity for members of the public with relevant experience and qualifications to contribute to help shape healthcare delivery to the community," he said.

"Members of the Board are not responsible for managing the whole hospital and its day to day activities. Our Chief Executive Officer and Executive team do that; however, our directors do work alongside our CEO to ensure our organisation is operating in a safe and effective way, and achieving the goals that our Board has set for our Service."
Mr Dodds said the range of desirable skills for the board of directors included audit and risk management; clinical or corporate governance, financial management and accounting, patient experience and consumer engagement, and more.
"If anyone in the community is keen to apply for a Board position, but possibly hesitating because they are uncertain about their skills or experience, please get in contact to talk to us.
"Some skillsets may require a formal qualification, however most people will find they have gained skills through their employment, personal experiences and participation in other boards and committees."
West Wimmera Health Service's Board of Directors meets on the last Monday of the month at 7.00 pm. Directors are also involved in various board subcommittees, including the Community Advisory, Executive, Finance and Audit, Project Control Group, Quality and Safety Governance.
