The honour follows Weidemann's form in a series of games he played in an Under 12 State Development Camp in Shepparton in late November.
Playing for Cayden's Comets, the budding star took three wickets across the four games and scored 39 runs at an average of 19.5.

The camp was originally intended to precede a School Sports Australia competition but due to border closures and COVID 19, it had to be modified, with only a Victorian merit team selected at the conclusion.
Coach of the Team Vic Merit side Travis Colley was full of praise for Weidemann's skill and his character.
"A standout with Hugh is that he's a real strong little competitor," Colley said.
"He has good awareness of the game and for someone of that age, his stamina is something that really stood out.
He is always giving it 110%. He was mainly used as a top order bowler, but he's also got the great ability to bowl at the pointy end of an innings as well.

"He bowled exceptionally well and was very consistent with his bowling."
The Team Vic Coach also admired Weidemann's ability to make the most of opportunities.
"He is always giving it 110%," Colley said.
"He was mainly used as a top-order bowler, but he's also got the great ability to bowl at the pointy end of an innings as well.
"He was rarely given an opportunity to bat but when he did he batted really well and he placed great pride on his wicket."
Weidemann wasn't the only Wimmera-based player who took part in the camp, with Horsham's Luke Miller representing Steve's Stars in Shepparton.
Playing as a wicketkeeper-batsman Miller was impressive across his four games, hitting 35 runs at an average of 17.5 and keeping well for long stints in the field.
On the weekends Weidemann plies his trade for Rup/Minyip where at just 12 he has already played two B Grade men's games this season.
Against Horsham Saints B Grade side in round three, the young allrounder chipped in with a handy 15 coming in at number nine.
MORE NEWS:
Incredibly Hugh isn't even the first person in his immediate family to be named in the Under 12 Vic Cricket team, after his older brother Connor made the side three years ago.
Connor has been in strong form recently, top-scoring for the Western Waves in their first-round win against the Highlanders in the Under 16 Youth Premier League.
He was run out for 48 just short of a half-century, but it was still enough to help his team get over the line nine wickets down.
Connor also snared a crucial wicket for the side with ball in hand
Horsham's Logan Millar and Joey Nagorcka also played in that game and took one and two wickets apiece.
