The club has partnered with Lids4Kids Australia, a group which recycles donated plastic lids into items such as USBs, pens and parts for artificial limbs.
The recycled products will then be provided to schools, small businesses and community groups for use.
Horsham Rotary Club president Neil King said the club would also work with cafes and businesses around the city to fill as many bags as possible with lids before Christmas.

"We looked at how everyone drinks soft drinks, milk and bottled water, and we thought there must be a way to get those lids and take them somewhere," he said.
"The lids are melted down and turned into plastic and made into various things. They give away most of the stuff they make to disadvantaged children through the Smith Family and the Salvation Army."
Drop-off locations include; The Wimmera Mail-Times office on 185 Baillie Street, Emma Kealy's office on 114 Firebrace Street, and the Horsham Times office on the corner of Wilson and Darlot streets.
Mr King has asked anyone interested in donating lids to make sure they are clean before dropping them off.
