Corey Trevena, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault at the Horsham Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, December 14, following two incidents resulting from separate traffic confrontations.
The court was told that at 12.15pm on May 31, 2020, Trevena was travelling south along Urquhart Street with his partner, who was driving, and their child.
The couple was driving behind another car, the occupants of which were known to them.
When Trevena's partner attempted to overtake the other car, the driver sped up to cut the couple off.

The two cars sped up and turned into the intersection of Firebrace Street and Roberts Avenue.
Trevena left the vehicle and ran to the driver's side door of the other car, yelling, "so you are going to try and kill my son?' to the male driver.
The man got out of the vehicle and confronted Trevena, who punched him on the right side of the face. A nearby witness came and broke up the incident.
On June 5, police attended Trevena's address, but he refused an interview.
The second incident occurred on June 24, 2021, at the intersection of Firebrace and Baker Street.
The driver walked over to the car Trevena was in and handed him some paperwork with road rules on them.
OTHER NEWS:
Further down Firebrace Street, Trevena threw the paperwork out of the car.
Around 20 minutes after the initial incident, Trevena was confronted by the 60-year-old man while parking on Firebrace Street.
Trevena began to yell at the man, who struck him in the head. Trevena retaliated by swinging wildly at him and got him into a headlock before throwing him to the ground.
The incident was recorded on CCTV cameras.
On August 11, police visited Trevena's home, where he made full admissions to the incident, admitting he had overreacted.
Trevena was convicted on both charges and fined $1800.
