Each week, The Wimmera Mail-Times catches up with players of all different sporting codes from across the region.
This week the Mail-Times had a chat with Homers Cricket Club's Baxter Perry.
Baxter is an up-and-coming pace bowler for Homers who opens the bowling for their A Grade side every week.
He comes from an impressively tall height and has taken one wicket in all five games this season.
It is his consistency in bowling a tight line to batters that truly catches the eye; the paceman has bowled 42 overs this year at an economy rate of 2.7 runs per over.
Perry sits fourth overall for economy rate in the competition, however two of the people ahead of him have only bowled four and three overs respectively.
His best figures came against West Wimmera in round three.
Perry snared 1-10 off nine overs, helping restrict West Wimmera to just 128 in pursuit of Homers' total of 202.
He also took a wicket and conceded just 14 runs from nine overs the following week against the force that is Noradjuha-Toolondo.
With the bat in hand Perry is yet to get going in 2021/22 but is more than handy when he gets his chance.
