Friday night's T20 clash between Nordjuha-Toolondo was a competitive affair, but once again the table-topping Bullants proved their mettle to remain undefeated.
Sent in to bat by the Bullants, the Tigers were in early trouble at 3-25, with their entire top three back in the sheds.
READ MORE:
Bullants' bowlers Matt Combe, Tony Caccaviello and Jordan McDonald were on song early with a wicket apiece.
Fortunately for Jung, Angus Adams and Tyler Puls were able to form some resistance, combining for a 47 run partnership before Puls was dismissed for 21.
Adams became Combe's second victim and the fifth wicket to fall with the score at 5-93, thanks to his classy 43 off 35 balls.
From there steady wickets fell as the Tigers made their way to a slightly under par 8-118 from their allotted 20 overs.
Combe was the star of the Bullants' bowlers, finishing with impeccable figures of 4-17, while Caccaviello was dangerous with his 2-23.
In reply, the Bullants' batters got off to a promising start and were 0-32, before a mix-up resulted in Josh Beddison being run out for six.
Competition-leading runscorer Justtin Combe (16) was the next to go a run later when Grant Connelly had him caught off his tweakers.
Caccaviello fell not long after to leave the score at 3-46 and give the Tigers' bowlers some hope.
That hope was quickly extinguished however by Matt Combe and Shane Oakley who compiled a timely 49-run partnership to put the Bullants within touching distance of victory.
Combe was finally removed by Adams for 28, but by then the damage was done with the Bullants only needing 24 runs to win with considerable overs left.
Kent Hair came to the crease and alongside Oakley peeled off the runs with 10 balls remaining, to win by six wickets.
Hair finished unbeaten on 16 while Oakley was not out on 39.
Joel Pymer, Connelly and Adams all finished with a wicket each.
The following night at City Oval it was Homers who continued their strong form with a comfortable win over West Wimmera.
The Warriors batted first and were looking good at 1-64 before Nathan Alexander was dismissed by Chaminda Gamage for a well-made 31.
That led to somewhat of a mini-collapse for the Warriors, as the side went on to lose their next four wickets for just 15 runs.
At 6-79, it was up to first drop James Philip and Tim Braendler to drive the Warriors to a competitive score and the pair did just that.
After 20 overs the Warriors finished on 7-129, thanks to Philip who finished unbeaten on 47 and Braendler who contributed a timely cameo of 21.
Gamage was Homers' chief destroyer with the ball, snagging 4-20 from four overs and was aided by teenager Logan Millar's 2-28.
In response, Homers came out swinging and got off to an absolute flyer.
MORE NEWS:
Paddy Mills (25) was the Warriors' first wicket, but when he went the score was 1-95 and any chance of a Warriors victory had well and truly dissipated.
Mills' opening partner Luke Deutscher was phenomenal with the bat and single-handedly ensured victory for his side.
He despatched the Warriors bowlers to all parts of the ground on his way to 86 off 43 balls, which came to an end with his side needing just two runs for victory.
Gamage and Adam Atwood combined for the winning runs to seal a comprehensive victory for Homers; two wickets down with seven overs remaining.
Brad Alexander and Philip were the only wicket-takers for the Warriors.
Homers' win sees them rise to equal second on the ladder with the Tigers, just behind on percentage, while the Bullants' victory puts them a mammoth 18-points in front of second.
Next week's matches are again T20s at City Oval, with Homers taking on the Bullants and Rup-Minyip playing the Tigers.
