Tammy Smith will take on the role from January 21 until a chief executive officer is selected by councill.
This comes after current chief executive Jessie Holmes announced her resignation in late 2021.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The appointment ensures that there is a period of transition enabling support from the current CEO to the acting CEO until a new CEO is appointed and permanently in place.
Ms Smith's worked as the Director of business strategy and performance at Yarriambiack Shire Council.
The recommendation was moved by councillor Tom Hamilton and seconded by Corinne Heintze.
It was carried unanimously.
