Sharon Fedke is excited about 2025.

Fedke has been involved in netball all of her life. She spent 10 years at Horsham United, playing both A and B grades and coaching the junior and senior teams. She then spent two years at the Horsham Saints, playing A-grade and coaching the 15-and-17-and-under teams.

She has been at Noradjuha Quantong for the past eight years. She has played and coached A, B, and C grades and the 15-and-17-and-under teams.

Fedke is an accredited Development Level coach who has coached interleague representative teams for the WFNL and HDFNL over the last twenty years.

She has also played and coached seniors in Wimmera Regional State LEague teams for two years, alongside coaching the 17-and-under team.

Fedke said she is excited about the opportunity.

“I am thankful to Taylors Lake for the opportunity to coach A-grade in 2025," Fedke said.

"I am super excited and looking forward to a great year both on and off the court.”

Lakers netball director Kelly Knoop said Fedke perfectly fits their young team.

"We have a young A-grade team, and we see a lot of potential in them, and we know they have it in them to progress further," Knoop said.

"Sharon will strengthen the team, help develop them with her experience and knowledge, and get them where they need to be.

"She is ready for the challenge. She has worked with girls at the interleague level, knows their capability and talent, and feels they can bring more to the side.

"We feel they will come in leaps and bounds under Sharon's guidance through skills and development.

The Lakers will retain most of their players and look to bring in a few more. They have lost Lilly Weir, who has decided to play for Edenhope Apsley in 2025, and Knoop said they support her decision,

"We understand Lilly looked to have a change, and we fully support her and wish her well in that, and ultimately, one player doesn't make a team," Knoop said.

"We have retained many senior and junior players and have girls moving up, but we have lost a couple to uni or family commitments.

"We are keen to get a junior pathway program happening. We will focus on a lot of our under-17s training and incorporate that into A and B-grade training, working to prepare them for when they advance to the senior programs.

"We are also looking for new players and look forward to what 2025 brings."

Fedke said there are many good kids at Taylors Lake, and she saw the opportunity to develop them.

"Taylors Lake has approached me a couple of times over the year, and I thought now was the right time to make a change and see if I can make a small difference," Fedke said.

"I have coached many of them through junior representative netball, and knowing who they are and their capabilities, I have an opportunity to hopefully try and help develop them further.

"They have always had good juniors coming through, and with the junior program, I will try to develop them to step up to senior level."
