In November 2019, council approved an $80,000 loan to the Natimuk A&P Society to be repaid over five years.
The Natimuk A&P Society contacted the council seeking an extension of the term from five to ten years in response to financial challenges imposed by COVID-19 and the finalisation of further works.
Councillor Claudia Haenel said it was "the right thing to do given these uncertain times."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Councillor Penny Flynn highlighted the importance of the Natimuk A&P Society to Natimuk.
"They must be commended for contacting council early into their loan period to say they didn't feel they weren't going to fulfill the requirement of the five year term," she said.
"I'm confident the A&P society will be able to fulfill their requirements and pay the loan back within the new prescribed time frame."
Other councillors commended the importance of the group and the strength of the Natimuk community.
"The volunteers of Natimuk that work their hearts out tirelessly to improve the facilities out there are enourmous," councillor Les Power said.
"Without them we couldn't do it."
