POLICE recorded almost 60 offences across the Wimmera and Grampians regions during Operation Scoreboard, a statewide police blitz held during the Grand Final long weekend.

With a focus on speeding and impaired driving, police recorded 57 offences, with the majority taking place in the Northern Grampians.
Between 12.01am Thursday, September 23 to 11.59pm Sunday, September 26, 43 offences were recorded in the Northern Grampians area, including 25 speeding fines and 10 unregistered vehicles.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Six people were caught who were disqualified or unlicensed drivers.
There was also one drink driver offence.
One person was caught in a moving vehicle without a seatbelt.
Surprisingly, only 14 offences were recorded in the Horsham Police Service Area.
The Wimmera Mail-Times did report one accident in Drung in the afternoon of Sunday, September 26.
There were four speeding offences found over the weekend.
There were only a single offence each for a drink driver, a drug driver and unlicensed driver.
One driver will having trouble getting around, as one car was impounded.
It wasn't just motor vehicles as police issued three cyclists offences as well over the long weekend.
