"It's testament to the hard work of the community in continuing tennis through those projects and also the Council's upcoming work for our master planning which will involve a tennis element," Yarriambiack Shire Council Mayor Graeme Massey said.
Tennis is a popular pastime in the Yarriambiack Shire, and Mr Massey believes it has "really come to life" recently.
"Especially with COVID-19, I think tennis has been really lucky in the sense that it was probably one of the last sports to be cancelled," he said.
"Essentially, tennis became the flavour of the month across the Yarriambiack communities, and it became quite popular, and that really engaged us to think what we could do in that space.
"And it was quite obvious that tennis was becoming more and more popular, but our infrastructure was lacking.
"It's testament to the hardwork of the Beulah, Brim and Rupanyup communities for pulling these projects together and working with the state government to deliver significant infrastructure investment."
According to Mr Massey, the courts are on track for completion by December, and the new female-friendly change rooms are on track for completion by the end of February to early March.
