The day which was slated for Sunday, November 14, was set to see members of the Melbourne Demons 2021 premiership-winning team, mingle with fans for an afternoon of photos, questions and auctions at Sawyer Park.
The event was run by private company DAPS Entertainment and was not a Melbourne Demons sanctioned event.

DAPS Entertainment's Dougal Austin pointed to several factors behind the cancellation, including negative coverage from other media organisations that people were complaining about ticket prices.
The price of the event was listed at $149 per person or $499 for a family and was heavily scrutinised in the media.
Austin also thought there was "a lot of consumer confusion" surrounding who was staging the event.
"I think people thought the club was actually running it and charging people, not realising that it was actually being run by an events company," he said.
"I think in Melbourne we see a lot of these sportsman's nights put on by third party promoters but regional people I don't think are used to it.
"We hadn't sold many tickets anyway so we pulled the pin."
MORE NEWS:
The Horsham stop was one of the numerous stops the tour was set to take, including Warrnambool which was also cancelled.
The Horsham event was cancelled "a few weeks ago" according to Austin and community members who had already purchased tickets have been refunded.
Some of the Demons originally named to attend included Jack Viney, Angus Brayshaw and Bailey Fritsch.
