Coming off a 15 point loss to the Warrnambool Mermaids, the Hornets left no stone unturned as they surged to a 20-point lead at the first break.
The Hornets then followed it up with a 17-2 second quarter, to enjoy a comfortable 35 point halftime buffer.
While the scoring can't be faulted, it was the Hornets defence that set up the foundations of the win.

Georgia Hiscock and skipper Liv Jones were brilliant in their defensive efforts, consistently turning the Tornadoes mistakes into costly turnovers.
Offensively, the Hornets were led by Faith McKenzie, who piled on 35 points for the evening, supported by Ema Iredell (23 pojnts) and Hiscock (14 points).
Jessica Cannane and Nekaela Butler also provided spark and kept the Tornadoes on their toes throughout the match, while Jedah Huff played her role to perfection.
The Tornadoes fought back somewhat in the third, outscoring their entire first half total in just one quarter, however the result was a foregone conclusion.
The final term was the highest scoring yet; with 51 points scored between both teams as the Hornets cruised to a 102-42 victory.
It is the second time this season that the Hornets have got the chocolates over Terang, after Horsham thumped the Tornadoes in Terang in round one by fifty points.
Travelling to Mount Gambier on Sunday, however, would prove to be a tougher assignment as the Hornets went down in a close contest.
The Lakers set up their victory with a strong second quarter where they scored 18 points to 6.
The Hornets were unable to make up the difference, despite outscoring their opponents 17-12 in the final term.
Ema Iradell led the Hornets scoring, with 23 points.
