The Wimmera under 15s and 17s sides won the Northern Zone Association Championships in Bendigo

The under 15s and 17s sides won their grand final clashes, while the under 13s side impressed before going down by just two points in the semi-final to Central Murray.

The state titles will be held in Melbourne on August 1.

Under 15s coach, Linley Wardle was full of praise for her side after winning the final by just one point against Central Murray.

"(It was) incredible!" Wardle told The Wimmera Mail-Times.

"It was a tough win in the final, only a one-goal win, so that was a bit nailbiting.

"They were down by four in the first...

"(We) made a quick change, just some fresh legs on the court at half time, and they (the players) were so determined.

"They really dug deep it could have gone either way."

What makes Wardle's side's win even more impressive was the fact they lost the final of the previous Golden City Tournament to Ballarat by ten points.

"Yeah absolutely (a great effort) to win the association because the last tournament that we did they only got runner up and that was because of that fatigue," Wardle said.

"It's a totally different netball to Saturday. It's eight minute halves and that's it."

Wardle said her side was rapt that they get the chance to represent the Wimmera at the State Championships.

"The girls were pretty excited just to get to the final because then they knew they'd nailed it to get to Melbourne anyway, so they were on a high.," Wardle said.

"It's gonna be tough, you're up against all the Melbourne teams and regional teams."
