Introduction of a "participants & officials bubble" will ensure strict separation is maintained between essential personnel (licensed participants with a horse engaged at a meeting and raceday officials) and the general public (includes owners).
This means that owners and patrons are not permitted to enter the "bubble" and those inside the "bubble" cannot enter areas on the course that are open to the general public.
Horsham's final meeting of the 2021 season has attracted 86 final acceptors and will see a huge ten-event card of harness action, commencing with the West Side Function Room Pace at 12:22pm and concluding with the West Side Sports Bar and TAB Pace at 5:47pm.
It's great to see HRV decided to divide acceptors for both the 2YO and 3YO Maiden Pace giving owners extra opportunity to notch up a victory and, in most cases, also collect a $7000 Vicbred Bonus in addition to the winner's cheque.
*Talented Great Western squaregaiter Plymouth Chubb stretched his winning streak to ten with an all the way victory in a heat of the 2YO Breeders Crown at Maryborough on Thursday afternoon.
The powerful youngster ambled through the early and middle stages of the 2190 metre journey and was only woken up close to the post by driver Kerryn Manning to hold off a late challenge from Hautacam (Matty Craven) in the leisurely rate of 2:04.5. $100,000 Final at Tabcorp Park Melton November 20th.
*Long time Apsley harness racing owner Gary McGinty enjoyed a win at Globe Derby Park on Monday afternoon with the former New Zealander, Bettor Beontoit.
The beautifully bred-rising 8yo mare was the winner of just one race from 25 starts in her homeland and has now won two of five in Oz for trainer & part-owner Heather Stevens.
MORE NEWS:
The daughter of Bettors Delight and a Christian Cullen mare, Bettor Beontoit should pick up a few more before heading off to the breeding barn.
*They're off @ Horsham (D) Monday November 15th; Charlton (D) Sunday 21st; Stawell (D) Monday 22nd; Swan Hill (N) Thursday 25th and Hamilton (D) Monday 29th.
